Pretty good smart home addition!

Glad I found a sweet deal that saved me a bunch on my order! Got the SwitchBot Curtain Rod 2 and it's been pretty great for automating my bedroom blinds. Setup was mostly straightforward, although getting it perfectly aligned took a little fiddling. Delivery was quick, and it integrates well with my other smart devices, though I'm still hoping for direct Apple HomeKit support in the future. Their tiered discounts are a nice touch too.

hub is kinda essential

unlike my august home lock, the switchbot hub 2 is pretty much needed for everything. it was on sale for 25% off when i bought the SwitchBot Universal Remote so that was good. wish i'd known about the one promo code thing earlier though.

Bot works as advertised

Got a SwitchBot Bot for a light switch. It arrived quickly. Setup was simple. It pushes the button reliably. Does exactly what I needed it to do.

Absolutely amazing! Love my S10!

I just got the SwitchBot S10 Robot Vacuum and it's incredible! The setup was so easy, and it mapped my whole downstairs in no time. It cleans better than my old one, and the self-emptying and water refilling features are a game changer. I literally do nothing now, it just handles everything. My floors have never been cleaner. I'm telling all my friends about this, it's a must-have!

Decent smart lock, quick delivery

I picked up a SwitchBot Lock Pro last week. Shipping was pretty fast, it arrived in about four days which was nice. The lock itself feels sturdy and was fairly simple to install on my door. The app integration is good, and I like being able to check if my door is locked remotely. My one minor complaint is that the 'click' when it engages is a bit louder than I expected, not a huge deal but noticeable. For the price, it's a solid smart lock option, offering good functionality without breaking the bank. Just wish it was a tad quieter when locking.

Good product, some setup quirks

I bought the SwitchBot Curtain U Rail 2 recently. Ordering was straightforward on their website, no issues there. It took about 6 days to get to me in California, which was pretty standard for international shipping. The curtain bot itself is pretty well made, feels solid. Installation was mostly easy, but pairing it with the app took a couple of tries. The instructions were okay, but a quick YouTube search helped clarify a few things. Once it was set up, it works perfectly, opening and closing my heavy bedroom curtains on a schedule. I haven't needed customer support, so can't comment on that. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase and how it performs day-to-day, a definite upgrade to my smart home.

how does the return policy work if I don't like the S10 robot vacuum? Is it a hassle?

B Brett Walsh 1 month ago
Returns were super easy for me when I got the wrong curtain model. Just printed a label and sent it back, got my refund pretty fast.

I think you have like 30 days or something. Just make sure you keep the original packaging, always helps.

Thinking about the Blind Tilt vs Aqara's blind motor. Anyone have experience with both or know which is better?

N Nina C. 2 months ago
I went with SwitchBot for my blinds and it's been rock solid. Can't speak for Aqara directly but SwitchBot integrates well with my other stuff.

Aqara tends to be a bit more HomeKit focused, but SwitchBot's blind tilt is good value and works with everything else if you have their hub.

Does the SwitchBot Lock Pro need a hub to work with Alexa, or can it connect directly?

E Elena 2 months ago
You'll probably need a Hub for Alexa. Most of their stuff needs one to bridge to smart assistants.

Yeah, pretty sure the Lock needs a Hub to talk to Alexa. The Hub 2 is great though, also does Matter.

Any student discounts available? Trying to smarten up my dorm on a budget.

C Chris Lindqvist 2 months ago
I've seen them offer student discounts before, check their site or use a student discount platform. Sometimes they have specific codes.

Pretty sure they do! I think I saw it mentioned in their FAQs once, worth checking out.

Is SwitchBot actually legit? Never heard of them before but the bot looks cool.

D Daisy Marsh 1 month ago
Yeah they're totally legit. Been around for a while, got a few of their things and they work great.

Legit, for sure. Their stuff is pretty solid for the price, not some fly-by-night thing.
